Subject of this finely done work shows a mexican gentleman taking a siesta against an adobe wall and a ceramic jug alongside him.
A spokesperson I talked to at the navajoe gallery in Taos N.M. stated over the phone Virginia Dooley was not in,but told me she was not an artist and would not have signed a pastel done by R.C. Gorman in 1961.

Virgina Dooley came up in these results:

Virginia Dooley, Gorman’s estate manager and director of the Navajo Gallery in Taos, and a defendant in the lawsuit, says Sparks has been "claiming to have done Gorman’s work for years." But she says he is only known to have painted the backgrounds of Gorman’s paintings and is not entitled to anything beyond what was in Gorman’s will. When Gorman was alive, such claims didn’t get very far because the artist squashed them, says Dooley.

Virginia Dooley is not an artist, she was the friend and agent of the Famed Navajo artist R.C. Gorman, who has been dubbed "the Picasso of American art" by The New York Times, who died November 3, 2005 at the age of 74.

He was a very generous man and had given his friend, Virginia several of his artwork.

I’ve listed his galleries, just in case you’re interested.
