your art is an inspiration. as a struggling artist (how cliché i know..) I have fought with myself to try and do more than abstract. You are proof positive that abstract is all you need if you excel at it.

    Thank you.

There was no room for an easel where I painted so I just lay the canvas on the floor. Little did I know how priviledged I was- the views I would have I could see my painting as a whole.

I have come to believe that creativity is a step closer to connecting to the Creator of all things. It is a magical experience and we all can have it. It is about taking a few minutes to let go of daily worries and tap into it. Whether it is with a pencil, a pen to scribble or on the canvas. TRY IT!!! it is a great feeling if you just let go.

Nubia’s work is magnificent and I loved the commentary! The two artists can’t be compared. Each is unique in their own way and style! When giving a compliment, give it…don’t turn around and take it away in the following sentence!

This reminds me very much of the beautiful artist Linde B work
the colour and in two painting the stokes are very similar but you have a long way to go before you master her work. They are magnificent. I find it hard when painting abstract to really identify my own style

    Jeanne: Just know …
Jeanne: Just know that every stroke on the canvas is a valid stroke, and if frustation sets in… remind yourself that those layers are not wasted they are part of a painting in progress. If everything gets covered over the texture you create is crucial to abstract work .
Be an observer…pretend you are a child you love unconditionally and love everything she does… specially that she “Showed up” to paint at the kitchen table, the studio anywhere… she was there to paint. Praise that

Years ago in my college studies I touched on Jung. I certainly found ideas about archtypes and the unconscious that impressed me. To this day I sometimes approach the I CHING in the traditional synchronistic way, not for any occult purpose but just because ideas and thoughts and events coalesce and prompt insight. Anyway, I NEED to paint :-) .

Thank you, thank you. I understand your feelings and your words. My degree was in Business Administration but down deep inside there was a voice that pleaded with me ..paint…paint…I felt in my veins I had to honor it above all. It was a good choice. DO you read Jung?
