Georges Seurat: He painted in the style known as pointillism, consisting of the application of small dots of pure cover over the canvas.
Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec: He was best known for his lithographs and posters, which often captured the "fin du siècle" malaise of Paris in the late 19th century.
Paul Cézanne: He was known for his painting of still life figures and landscapes of Mont Ste-Victoire. He liked to capture the underlying permanence and the geometry of his art objects, and his paintings of nudes with stiff geometric forms are considered to be precursors of Cubism, a style that was later adopted by Picasso.
Paul Gaugin: He is best known for his paintings of the inhabitants of Tahiti and his use of bright colours and simplified forms.
Vincent van Gogh: He is known for his self-portraits as well as for his pictures of flowers, landscapes and still lifes. His style consisted of agitated and swirling brushstrokes, the application of thick impasto and bright colours.
