Impresionist artist and the mineral oil to have brighter colors?

Posted by admin on March 31st, 2010 and filed under impressionist artist | 1 Comment »

Which mineral oil colors helped to the impressionist painter to have brighter colors to their paintings?
How did the mineral oil colors are produced?

Mineral oil colors were from inorganic pigments that are compounds of minerals, such as cobalt, cadmium, and manganese. Prussian Blue, cerulean, etc all became possible for the Impressionist’s use then. These mineral colors grey down when mixed with white. This attribute makes them particularly valuable for painting natural light because most colors of the natural world have a strong element of grey.

Ken Bushe is good.

To all oil pastel artists out there…?

Posted by admin on March 31st, 2010 and filed under pastel artist | 1 Comment »

What oil pastel brand would you say is the best…comparing smoothness when applied, not crumbling under pressure, range of colors, price, etc?

For Oil pastels, there are only 2 brands on the market that are truly artist quality, those are extremely buttery – Sennellier and Holbein. Oil pastels never dry and must be framed behind glass with an air space.
(or they smudge)

i have bought an artist 16" x 20" canvas and i have a photo i would like transfering on to it, can i do that?

Posted by admin on March 31st, 2010 and filed under artist canvas | 1 Comment »

if i take the canvas and the photo in to a photo shop will they do it, i no they do it but normally they put them on there own canvas’s that they sell, do you think that they will put it on my artist one? thanks in advance.

It depends on the grade of canvas you have. It could either soak up too much ink or not absorb at all. If the canvas you bought was not manufactured for digital printing, then it would not be suitable for printing a photo.
If you insist on providing your own canvas, you can definitely get it yourself but just make sure it is an Ink Jet Canvas. Also, depending on your printer’s large format machine, the canvas you provide must be able to handle either pigmented or dye-based inks. Check out Fredrix Archival Print Canvas.

Also keep in mind that you don’t have to go to a photo studio. You can also have this done at a decent Graphic Design or Sign shop.

Can a self taught artist of paintings become an established artist? How?

Posted by admin on March 31st, 2010 and filed under artist | 3 Comments »

Is it necessary to have a BFA and a MFA to become an established artist in India? Does art education play an important role? Is is necessary to have a degree and masters in your portfolio description for people to appreciate your paintings.

Can a self taught artist become an established artist if he has great talent? If he holds exhibition after exhibition, and on the strenght of his art alone, can he prove his art to the world, that education is not everything, inborn talent can also prevail.

Hi there,
Here in western europe, art educations only teach you some way of thinking. You don’t learn how to paint at all. People do look at the resume, but it helps more when they like your work.

If you practice a lot on your own effort, you can gain skills and develop your own style. Of course talent helps. But you also need to practice every day.

Posted by admin on March 31st, 2010 and filed under artist prints | 1 Comment »

The mark in lower left corner is a triangle with ‘INC.’ in the center. To the left of the triangle is the copyright symbol, A, and 1927. At the top of the triangle is ‘M’. At the bottom point of the triangle is ‘CHGO’. To the right of the triangle is ‘P’.

In the lower right of the print is ‘Heart’s Desire’.

Here’s hoping someone has information. Thanks

Still needing your help identifying painting and artist?

Posted by admin on March 31st, 2010 and filed under painting artist | 2 Comments »

I am looking for the name of painting and artist. This is a pic of a white women sitting in a chair dressed with a hat and umbrella at her side while a black maid is at the fire place dressed in a head wrap and long slave like dress. There is a cat eating as well.
I have pic.

I’m not sure if this will be of any help but try going to the website www.nga.gov which is the national gallery of art. They have all kinds of art dating from the early 1800’s till now. They have paintings, pictures and sculptures. You may be able to find what your looking for there.

How much do the portrait artists at amusement parks get paid?

Posted by admin on March 31st, 2010 and filed under artists | 1 Comment »

I’ve seen what the portrait artists do at amusement parks, and find it very appealing as a job to supplement my income. The only problem for me is the pay. I would like to be paid at least 500 dollars a month in order for me to live happily, but I don’t know how much is a reasonable amount to ask for. A detailed answer that is to the point will get best answer.

I think it is commission, you get paid depending on how many drawings you do.
